Jan 30, 2004
late last night, just finished breakfast and about to get ready and go out....gotta pick up my tickets at the Patriots hotel then I will cruise around...the weather is overcast but itis warm and not raining....better than the 10 degrees and snow I left...LOL Will update tonight...if there is anything to update. All the events are pretty spread out so it is nothing like New Orleans. But I am sure I will find some good fun. GO PATS! P.S. and if I see one more segment on the (insert adjective: sexy, cute, handsome, charming etc..) Tom Brady on ET, Inside Edition, CNN, Foxnews, Foxsports, all local Houston stations,ESPN, CBS, NBC, ABC, and every damn newspaper,, I am going to hurl!

My god could Houston be any bigger...I drove 45 minutes from the airport to my hotel and was still in Houston!..Holiday Inns suck!...Friday night went to the Pats hotel (Intercontinental)to get my tickets...hung around with Pats fans at the bar and saw a bunch of the players and coaches with family, the atmosphere was very relaxed and the players just mixed with the fans and signed autrographs and chatted...tons of fun. Then went to the NFL league hotel (Hilton), huge party in the lobby, salsa band and drink stands set up all over the place plus the two bars in the lobby, saw Eddie George, Boomer Esiason, Jerome Bettis, Dan Marino and some others I can't remember now. Sat down to dinner at the lobby restaurant and saw Troy come out of Spencers, very chi chi steakhouse off the lobby. He strolled right by my table over to a Starbucks stand in the lobby and a bunch of people noticed him and swarmed him for autographs and he disappeared behind them. Didn't see where he went or how long he hung out, I doubt for long. Sister came in Saturday and we went to dinner and then Main Street...it was a little wild there and decided to head back to the hotel for a good nights rest for the game. Everything was so spread out in Houston, different locations all over the place that it definitely did not have the same "buzz" as the SB in New Orleans. Houstonians all extremely nice, really great, the hospitality was super but it is just so big that it was not near the fun of New Orleans. Went to Pappas Brothers steakhouse for lunch, everybody said is "the" restaurant in Houston. Ummmmm...Delicious...shrimp remoulade then filet mignon. Waiting to order looked up and who is strolling down the aisle but Troy again.(is he following me!...lol) Walked through the main dining room and into the outer dining room. Looked really nice in black pants and black turtleneck. Thinner than he appears on television, nice tan. Dining room not very full (it was just noon) and nobody bothered him. Very chi chi restaurant so nobody wanted to appear impressed..lol. He left about a 1/2 hour after he arrived. They sure got his meal to him quick! Drove to the stadium, weirdest thing was no traffic! All week long terrible traffic jams but not on gameday. Everybody heeded the warnings and got there around 2 pm which made the security lines unbelievable. They really screwed this up. They had 4 entrances with 4 each pat down choke points which caused huge delays. Somebody really screwed up. Took 2 hours to get in. The need the New Orleans Superdome people to handle this...they know what they are doing. Pre game show with Toby Keith then Aerosmith was awesome, they should have been the half-time show. I didn't even watch the half time, totally not interested, went down to the concession stands and chatted about the game with fans. Was back in the stands for the start of the second half and the streaker!. Unbelievable, he ran out there in a refs suit and the kicker as looking at him and just ripped of the suit.(it was a breakaway suit). The stadium kind of sat there stunned for a minute. He started doing this jig staying in place and twirling. He only had on gstring, it wasn't big enough for a jock strap. The players wre all set up for the kick-off and they just stood there looking at him not moving, just raising there hands half way up as if to say "what the f..k". The fans were hooting and hollering by this time. After about a 30 seconds, a really long time, security starting running towards him from the ramps and he started sprinting down the field into the Patriots who were all setup to receive the kick. None of the Pats were going near him and then finally one of the Pats sprinted towards and blindsided him and knocked him to the ground...he went flying about 5 feet down to the turf...everybody cheered....security was on him immediately... about 30 of them all pig piled on top of him....they hog tied him and carried him off upside down running. The players just shook there heads, they were not amused. As for the game....well what can I say....whew....just brutal. It took awhile for the win to sink in because it was such an emotional seesaw. Left Monday morning, the airport was a zoo at 6:30am! They were herding us through security like cattle through a chute....yelling instructions out, grabbing items, putting them up on the belt, when someone screwed up they would yell out the screw up so that nobody else would repeat it... it was funny and great becuase if they didn't they noone would have made their flights. Went to the parade today. Tons of fun! I'm exhausted....thank god they won.
