Jan 30, 2002, 9:59 PM

Hi everyone, well I am in New Orleans, I decided to come down... today because a friend of mine is down here working on promotion for a sports related company. Cindy can't come till Saturday.....got in at 8:30 and went downsstairs to eat dinner. Sat next to a Secret Service agent who is here working security, interesting conversation. I am exhausted and going to bed,did not get much sleep last night so will explore tomorrow. So,,,,excited the place is buzzin.

SB-NO Report: finished my coffee, read my on-line papers... by Rosemary and ready for exploration. I can see the Superdome from my hotel room as I am in the Garden District...easy walking distance..this is gonna be fun. More on the Secret Service guy: He got in from DC last night too and was on my plane, I came through DC from Providence (more on the people on that plane later....yikes)Anyway he said he is on the Presidential detail and that GW is a fast runner, that he jogs and does a 6:20 mile for three miles and he has trouble keeping up, he looked about late 20's early 30 years old. I said I have never seen GW jogging but used to see Clinton, he said they don't want them jogging in public for obvious reasons but that Clinton insisted until they found a guy 45 yards ahead of him with a 357 magnum, he finally stopped. He said GW jogs in undisclosed locations that they don;t let the press cover or at Camp David. I asked him if he would take a bullet for the president kind of jokingly and without batting an eye and in very serious tones he said he would. I asked him if GW wore a bullet proof vest when he through that ball out at Yankee stadium and he said no that he won't wear one, which bothers him. I said it looked like he was wearing one and he said no but he wished he would. He said there are about 2000 secret service agents in the area scouting to prevent attacks at the bowl. We talked for a while but I don't remember much more than above, if I do I will post. Well I'm off.............YIPPPEEEEEEE!

SB-NO Report: Ummmmm, ok the garden distrcit to the quarter... by Rosemary is a lovely walk but, I'll take the streetcar (don't say trolley) next time...lol! Anyway.... I was sitting in the quarter having late lunch (shrimp creole and crawfish etouffe...:) (someplace called Pere Antoine??? on Royal, when I get a call from Cin in N. New Hampshire....she is driving through a blinding snowstorm and is expecting 10 inches of the stuff...it was surreal, it was so warm in NO yesterday everybody was sweating and the spicy shrimp creole did not help me any! She can't wait to get here and was hating me! They have a nice salon here and got my nails done and she told me to go to a restraunt called Indigo down off the beaten path near the Bayou, think I will go tonight. Uhoh, sister on the phone, will talk later, trying tp hookup with her in-laws who got tix and arriving today, really great funny people, will talk later. So somebody verify if this Derrick Kinnard (sp) guy really played for the Cowboys, the ring looked real but ya never know, very nice guy.

LOL, so there was a Derek Kinnard on the team., he was really funny... by Rosemary very sweet, I told him I was going to check with my DC experts here and he just laughed. Really big guy just smiling all the time.....I was talking to this woman from NO who was complaining about having no NBA team and how the Jazz moved to Utah of all places and kept the name Jazz, she hated this and I was laughing saying its just like a team from Dallas winning the Stanley Cup (sorry bugs) just doesn't seem right and that is when Derek leaned over and said "Oh don't you be bad mouthing Dallas now" or something like that. That's how the conversation started, Earl Morrall (sp)was there too a QB who replaced the starter in a superbowl long ago, I recall the name, anyway he was saying that he thought Bledsoe was going to have to replace Brady during the game at some point. Derek kept flashing his ring which could have been obnoxious but he was so funny that it didn't matter. Nice time here at this hotel, they have something going on where there are signs telling "Extras" to meet here at different times. I wonder what they are filming?? Haven't met any of them yet.

Well I'm home. my voice is still gone and my brain and heart are... by Rosemary not back to 100% yet, not sure if they ever will be. Never, ever, ever combine 6 days in New Orleans with a Superbowl like that and your team wins.....I will never be the same....lol I'm going to bed, for days. I am still trying to come down, I just keep.... laughing to myself as I remember incidents that went on all week. I woke up all last night still dreaming about the Patriots, smiling and screaming in my sleep. I am not a picture person, literally do not own one picture from any event in my life, not my thing, but Cindy took a roll and then promptly lost the camera at the Pats celebration at the Corner Bar. We also had the Superbowl seat cushion that had all the gifts in it, but when we woke up the next day all the goodies were missing, we just had the cushion and I had the radio that was one of the goodies, we could not stop laughing about that. Oh and I have the Superbowl program that I had stuffed in the cushion. Anyway when I come down I will make a list of all the stuff that went on an prepare a report. I am still too high.
