The Honeymoon Report...
So the limo gets there at 9:45 which I was thinking would be way early but actually was WAY late...my only wedding blunder, I guess that's ok, We stayed out at a Marriott near the airport, was very nice. We were so exhausted though We even took cake with us but didn't eat it b/c we were both so tired. Of course, I'd had three glasses of wine to help SETTLE me down, so that didn't help me at allThe next morning we had an uneventful flight out to Cancun. We both slept the majority of the flight which made it FLY by. We were expecting to have to wait to get into our room, but they surprised us by having it ready when we got there around 10. We went right to our room, a swim up casita all to ourselves. Our section was off from the main hotel, kinda far actually but a pretty walk, Plus you could call for a golf cart to come take you anywhere you wanted to go. There were little tropical flowers on the bed, which was so nice. It had that bog canopy the room also had a Jacuzzi which was cool. The swim up bar was only like 10 feet from our deck. The deck had a porch with two feet of water so you could just lay there right in front of your room in lawn chairs, so nice! We couldn't get the water in the shower to regulate temperature well, so we used the outdoor shower the whole time, I REALLY liked it!
Ok, so we get there and get situated and decide to eat lunch right away. The food was SO good, we figured that out right away. He had mahi mahi and I had fajitas, plus we each had an appetizer. The portions weren't huge so you could easily have a couple of whatever you wanted. We went back to the room am laid around some more that pretty much sums up our honeymoon. We'd EAT and then nap and then EAT some more. I really liked just laying around imagine that. The first night there were huge thunderstorms which were very cool, watching the sky light up and see the wave's crash on the beach. If we left the back doors open we could totally hear the surf.
For dinner the first night I had shrimp gratinee for my appetizer and OMG, it was SO good. I've looked for the recipe and can't find one, which makes me sad, I really liked it. I had stuffed chicken and Michael had um, I can't remember but whatever it was it was yummy!
We didn't snorkel or anything, just b/c we really enjoyed being lazy, We walked around a bit took some pictures. Saw several naked people, lol, turns out adult means ADULT wink wink
One morning we had a couples massage lesson which was cool. We learned how to rub properly. Who knew we were doing it all wrong??
Tuesday night we had a candlelight dinner on the beach. VERY romantic, except that the meal we chose was the fondue and it was kinda windy, so the flame kept flying all over the place. (it's ok I married a fireman!) We actually were SO full from lunch that we could hardly eat dinner that night anyway. Worked out well!
Our room had a DVD service so we were able to rent DVDS so afternoons were naps and movies. WE had lots of adult beverages but never enough to get drunk which was GOOD. I didn't want to waste anytime feeling bad b/c of a hangover. Michael never drinks at home either, so it was fun to have a "drink" with my husband, (husband!!) He only liked the fruity drinks tho, hehee Wednesday night we went to Playa Del Carmen. Had a yummy dinner on the strip, authentic Mexican food, which was pretty good. I had chicken tacos, he had the variety plate which included a baked banana that I could have lived without trying,
This trip was also the flute exploration. We really thought they were for drugs, and were astounded when that girl PLAYED one!
All in all, it went perfectly. The days were kinda overcast, then sunny, then overcast again so we weren't ever too hot. That being said, its GOOD to be home and getting settled into our routine, I'll get wedding pics UP as soon as I can,
